Finance Lead

About the position

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Business Operations team as the Finance Lead. This role is responsible for leading the financial management and compliance of the organisation and acts as the financial steward. The role works closely with all staff across the company to deliver financial management, budgeting and procurement leadership. This position requires a high level of attention to detail as it is accountable for legislative and financial compliance and supports several key relationships including with the Board and the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee. The Finance Lead will lead and advise the leadership of the company on issues such as financial forecasting, budgeting, accounting, budget acquittal and financial compliance as set out in regulations, legislation and the Public Skills Australia Grant Agreement. We are seeking an individual that has a combination of financial expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of finance, budgeting, accounting and procurement services.
  • Be the custodian of the financial delivery and literacy of the company by managing auditing, acquittal and financial reporting.
  • Manage effective financial stewardship of the organisation, including ensuring all financial obligations, regulations and compliance requirements for the company are adhered to.
  • Proactively scope, recommend and implement required financial management, budgeting and procurement support systems across the company.
  • In collaboration with the executive and leadership, assist with the development and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic direction.
  • Prepare quality reports such as finance papers, procurement contracts and agreements, and financial trend reports.
  • Oversee day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Review financial transactions, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

Key Selection Criteria – Essential

  • Relevant qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Demonstrated experience at a management level.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, auditing and procurement practices.

Travel, Logistics and Administration Coordinator

About the position

The Travel Logistics and Administration Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of travel arrangements across PSA, including bookings, itineraries and compliance with travel policies. The role also provides administrative support to PSA programs, including event logistics, data entry, meeting coordination and document and minute preparation.

The position is accountable to the Manager Business Operations and will support:

  • coordinating and booking travel arrangements in line with Public Skills Australia’s policies and procedures
  • preparation and management of travel itineraries and documentation
  • administrative tasks across programs and projects
  • event coordination and logistics
  • maintenance of accurate records, meeting minutes and data entry requirements.

We are seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in travel coordination and administration, managing travel bookings and arrangements, in booking, arranging and setting up venues for meetings, minute taking and purchasing, monitoring and tracking travel expenditure. The successful applicant will have the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and work in a dynamic team environment. They will also be able to deliver high quality, accurate information in a variety of formats to inform the decision-making of PSA and our industries.

Communications Officer - Content

About the position

The Communication Officer, Content- Content is accountable to the Manager VET Projects and Communications and works closely with teams across Public Skills Australia. The position is responsible for a range of communication activities, including content development, the drafting of communications and updating content for the Public Skills Australia website and on social media platforms. The Communication Officer, Content will be required to work closely with and may on occasion be requested to undertake duties generally associated with the Communications Officer, Content.

The Communication Officer, Content will develop high quality content in consultation with other staff to promote the positive image of Public Skills Australia and its Business Plan. Although this position reports to the Manager VET Projects and Communications, they are required to work across the company with other teams to enable promotion of their work. The position will work in a small high performing team that will see them collaborating with their team members and supporting them when required.

The position will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. The position is required to build and maintain strong relationships with all staff within the company.

Governance Lead

About the position

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Office of the CEO (OCEO) team as the Governance Support Officer. This position is accountable to the Governance Lead and works closely with staff in the OCEO and others responsible for reporting and compliance. The Governance Support Officer supports the corporate compliance and governance of the company including the development of annual reports, maintenance of compliance registers, updating of company information and implementation of the company Risk Framework, under direction of the Governance Lead. This position supports several key relationships including with the Board, Industry Advisory Group and Subcommittees. The successful applicant will require a combination of governance and compliance knowledge and stakeholder management skills to ensure the efficient and effective support of governance practice and knowledge across the company.

Responsibilities

  1. • In partnership with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, the Governance Support Officer will:
  2. • Lead the planning and logistics of internal governance meetings including coordinating agendas, papers, room bookings, minute taking and catering.
  3. • Support the Governance Lead with reporting and delivery of company compliance with ASIC, ACNC and the Grant Agreement.
  4. • Support governance stewardship of the organisation, including ensuring all obligations, regulations and compliance requirements for the company are adhered, to as directed by the Governance Lead.
  5. • Prepare quality meeting paper packs for the IAG and Subcommittees.
  6. • Maintain outstanding action items registers and other compliance mechanisms for internal governance groups.
  7. • Support preparation for the Annual General Meeting of the company in consultation with the Company Secretary and Executive team.
  8. • Deliver quality work on time, in line with expectations, governance and consultation processes and to the required standard.
  9. • Taking minutes for governance and internal meetings as directed.
  10. • Manage shared inboxes in line with expectations for exceptional recordkeeping.

About the position

The Manager VET Projects and Communications is accountable to the Director Training Products and Quality. This position forms part of the leadership of the company, and will work with the Office of the CEO, other managers and directors, members of the company, Board Directors, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, NCVER, STAs and the Assurance Body for Training Products.

The Manager VET Projects and Communications leads the company’s Implementation, Promotion and Monitoring function, oversees all corporate communications and supports the Training Products team in monitoring, implementing and promoting training packages with Registered Training Organisations. This position is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including tracking activities, milestones and managing budgets and associated risks as well as subcontractor management, contract and procurement activities.

The Manager VET Projects and Communications will lead a small team and will build the reputation of the company as a trusted partner. The position will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. The position is required to build and maintain strong relationships with all staff within the company.

Responsibilities

In partnership with internal stakeholders and external service providers, with the intent of ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, grant and company compliance obligations, the Manager will:

  • Lead, plan, manage and monitor VET projects and activity submissions related to the promotion, use and implementation of training packages, including managing risks, budgets and human resources.
  • Lead coordinated efforts to promote, implement, and expand adoption of training products by building stakeholder awareness, supporting effective rollout, and boosting engagement and utilisation.
  • Promote finalised VET deliverables through engaging, sector-aligned formats that resonate with Public Safety and Government audiences.
  • Promote career pathways that demonstrate entry and exit pathways through the development of materials.
  • Lead communications for the company including PR and marketing, branding and content development.
  • Deliver quality work on time, in line with governance and consultation processes and to the required standard.
  • Support and demonstrate the organisational values and the direction and vision of the Board, members, DEWR and Executive.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be required.

Key selection criteria

  • Qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience/training relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • An understanding of the implementation of Training Packages and the VET environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects, budgets and teams.

VET Projects Officer

About the position

The VET Project Officer (Training Product Development) is accountable to the Manager, Training Product Development, and is part of the Training Team.

The position delivers primarily on Training Product Development and also helps with Implementation, Promotion and Monitoring activities as outlined in the approved project plan.

This role is responsible for the delivery of several areas of work simultaneously. Key activities include:

  • Collaboration with subcontractors on program and project delivery.
  • Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with key industry partners.
  • Developing and piloting implementation programs to support industry-sector RTOs.
  • Developing high-quality reports and briefing papers.
  • Organising and facilitating various committee meetings.
  • Presenting high quality, accurate, verbal and written information to the Executive and internal and external industry stakeholders

Key selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Working knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and/or compliance requirements, as outlined in the Training Package Organising Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, relevant to vocational education and training, workforce planning and/or labour market research.
