Public Skills Australia (PSA) is appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as one of 10 Jobs and Skills Councils. Public Skills Australia works with employer and employee representatives (career and volunteer) from the Public Safety and Government industry-sectors – Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Correctional Services, Defence, Federal, State/Territory, and Local Government – and provides the following services in support of industry:
- • development and consultation of workforce planning and training products that meet industry and policy needs;
- • implementation, promotion and monitoring of strategies that drive improvement of training delivery and monitor resulting impacts; and
- • stewardship of intelligence relating to workforce challenges and skill needs.
About the position
The Communication Officer, Content- Content is accountable to the Manager Training Promotion and Implementation and works closely with teams across Public Skills Australia. The position is responsible for a range of communication activities, including content development, the drafting of communications and updating content for the Public Skills Australia website and on social media platforms. The Communication Officer, Content will be required to work closely with and may on occasion be requested to undertake duties generally associated with the Communications Officer, Technical.
The Communication Officer, Content will develop high quality content in consultation with other staff to promote the positive image of Public Skills Australia and its Business Plan. Although this position reports to the Manager Training Promotion and Implementation, they are required to work across the company with other teams to enable promotion of their work. The position will work in a small high performing team that will see them collaborating with their team members and supporting them when required.
The position will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. The position is required to build and maintain strong relationships with all staff within the company.

The Office and Administration Coordinator is accountable to the Manager Business Operations and works closely with all staff to support a productive and positive office environment. This position is responsible for office and facilities coordination and works collaboratively with the landlord of the company. The Office and Administration Coordinator will ensure a safe and comfortable work environment, will order and maintain office administration equipment and undertake general office coordination activities. They will manage requests and complaints about the office environment and provide further general administration support to others, including minute taking, storing of equipment and setting up for meetings. On occasion, the Office and Administration Coordinator will be required to make travel arrangements and support events and functions.
The position will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. OCEO Administration Officer - Office of the CEO provides a range of administrative duties to the CEO and Executive Advisor, ensuring smooth running and effective communication in the Office of the CEO. This position establishes and maintains effective confidential administrative processes associated with the Office of the CEO and also manages the calendars, diaries and travel for the Office of the CEO. This position requires a high level of stakeholder management, exceptional organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks within a confidential context.
