Auslan, Interpreting and Translating Qualification Review
Project Updates (October to November)
Validation of Findings and Recommendations
Public Skills Australia recently delivered workshops to Deaf community members and training provider representatives across Australia to gather insights into improvements that could be made within the existing Auslan, Interpreting and Translating qualifications.
Insights from the consultation sessions have been developed into a set of findings and recommendations. The project team is currently seeking validation of the findings and recommendations to inform the update of the Auslan, Interpreting and Translating qualifications. The proposed recommendations have been developed to address key challenges raised by stakeholders through updates practical to the Training Package. These recommendations will provide the scope and direction of the updates to the qualifications in collaboration with a Technical Committee in Phase 2 of the project.
The following video provides a summary of the recommendations and findings, however, for further information, please refer to Public Skills Australia Validation of Findings and Recommendations.
We request feedback and validation on the proposed findings and recommendations shared with our Training Product Development team at tpd@publicskillsaustralia.org.au by 20 October 2025.
