The POL Police Training Package Release 12 will update a range of qualifications to support the policing industry’s capability and training priorities across leadership, management, prosecutions, digital forensics, witness and personal protection. Release 12 will include updates to the following qualifications and their core units of competency:

• POL60118 Advanced Diploma of Police Supervision
• POL60121 Advanced Diploma of Police Close Personal Protection (Not for Public Access)
• POL60521 Advanced Diploma of Police Witness Protection (Not for Public Access)
• POL80225 Graduate Certificate in Police Management
• POL87125 Graduate Certificate in Police Prosecution (Not for Public Access)

Release 12 will also include the development of a new qualification and associated units of competency:

• POL8XXXX Graduate Certificate in Police Digital Forensics

Note: Products categorised as Not for Public Access (NFPA) are not available for public consultation and are informed by direct engagements with the police industry.

The Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA), the peak body representing policing across Australia and New Zealand, has established governance arrangements to support the review and development of policing training products. These arrangements include specialised focus groups, working groups, and training and education committees comprising subject matter experts and education professionals. Public Skills Australia works in partnership with ANZPAA to develop draft training products, which are subsequently reviewed by each state and territory police agency and their associated registered training organisations (RTOs). The governance process also incorporates consultation with the Police Federation of Australia, ensuring workforce perspectives are considered before training products receive final endorsement from Police Commissioners in each jurisdiction and the ANZPAA Board.

Technical Committee

To support the progression of commissioner approved Training Package products, Public Skills Australia will establish a Technical Committee composed of membership from the ANZPAA Training and Education Advisory Group (ATEAG).
