Michael Burgess

Mick Burgess has worked within the Australian Defence Force and the Defence industry for almost 40 years, and has international experience in leadership, business development and logistics.
He spent more than 20 years as a full-time Army Officer prior to working with the United Nations’ mission in Côte d’Ivoire, where he established the logistics support for the peacekeeping operations.
Mick established his own consulting company in Adelaide to support the growth of the Defence industry. For almost 20 years, his company has supported Federal and State Government bodies, including several medium and large Defence companies.
His career spans the Army Reserves, commanding the 9th Brigade in South Australia and Tasmania, and leading the Compliance and Assurance unit.
Mick is the President of the Defence Force Welfare Association in South Australia and represents the national body on the Board of Public Skills Australia. He is also the Chair of the Remembrance Driveway Council, a not-for-profit organisation.
